Mission:  Promote Dominican culture, unite native Dominicans & friends, and share our customs with the community

“Our Association is an all volunteer cultural organization. Volunteers are needed to plan and support the activities. The future and success of the organization depends on our participation. Our monthly “Tarde Social  Dominicana” gives us an  opportunity to meet other  Dominican families, plan our activities, learn about our  culture, taste delicious food and have fun. To host a “Tarde Social” or to help in a one of the committees, please contact the committee chairs and get involved!

“Relief Efforts” to help Dominicans in need
Tropical Storm "Noel"

Provincial de San Cristobal flood victims

The tropical storm ‘Noel’ that hit the DR last month left thousands of Dominicans without homes or food and in need of medicine. Our Association started “Relief Efforts” to collect emergency items to send to the DR to help with this national crisis.  Rafael Jorge is coordinating this project and selected a shipping company from Houston that volunteered to send items free for us.  Thank you to all our members who have helped in this important project.

Donation for the Bomberos Dominicanos

Bomberos Dominicanos attending conference, Javier Garcia, Gen. Carlos Tomas Ramos & other government dignitaries.

70 boxes of firefighter uniforms and rescue equipment were donated to the Dominican Rep. firefighters by the Dallas Hispanic Firefighters Association.  A delegation of firefighters from DR visited Dallas in September to participate in the National Association of Hispanic Firefighters, 12th Annual International Training Conference.  This is an important donation of equipment that is greatly needed on the island. We are helping coordinate the shipping of the donation as soon as possible. The cost to ship the donation is approximately $3,500.  If you know someone that can help us with this project or make a contribution, please contact Dulce or Bill Parker at 972 276-4972

 The LEAP Foundation:

LEAP is a team of doctors, specialists, nurses, and general helpers, directed by Dr. Craig Hobar. They dedicate their time, expertise and own resources to help bring free medical care to impoverished areas.  Many Dominican children have been helped and brought to Dallas for surgery and medical care.  We support these children & their families when they come to Dallas by helping with translations and donations.
