2. May 31st Picnic Report:
Le damos las gracias a todos nuestros miembros y voluntarios por participar en nuestro pasadia que fue un exito!

Thank you to all of you for coming and participating in our annual family picnic and to the Volunteers, Board Members, & Picnic Committee Coordinators for helping make our annual picnic a success!

We had fun dancing, had good food, dominoes, children games, and meeting new Dominicans families. We also welcomed our friends from Puerto Rico, Ecuador, Cuba, Mexico and other countries. We had over 100 persons in attendance! Many came from out of town to be with us.

A special thank you to Mayra Diaz for sending out the flyers, Amarilis Shepard for calling our members, Marcelo Davis for donating the DJ Music, Bill Parker for selling the drinks for the Association, Sra. Ondina and Dulce who helped in decorating the Pavillion, Altagracia Rodriguez and Johara de Moya for coordinating the children's activities and doing a collection for LEAP and Belkis & Rafael Jorge for the good food!

We had several members who donated the items and helped with Raffles; Valerie & Feliz Brito (donations of Proctor & Gamble products basket), Marilyn Koble for getting us the signed Texas Ranger Baseball, Nurys Marques (Mary Kay Products), and Alicia Espinal, Isis Espinosa, and Dulce Parker for their cash donations. Thank you!

3. New Announcements:

1. Coming Soon "Sabor Latino" New Dominican Restaurant - Owner and Chef Rafael Jorge will open a Dominican restaurant late August/early September, 2008. (Catering is available now!). Restaurant Address is 544 West Harwood Rd, Hurst; north of 183/121, west of the DFW Airport. More information later.

2. Shipping Boxes to Sto. Domingo: The last shipment of boxes from DFW already has been distributed in the DR. The next shipment of boxes is planned for July 15, 2008. Call Rafael Jorge for more information.

3. Membership: If you have not paid your annual membership of $20, please send your check to Vinicio Mota. You can get an application to update our roster from our website. Your membership dues help us continue to plan activities for our Association.
