short notice with our members & friends who want to go dancing!

12, 2004 - "Cena-Baile de Noche Buena"
- Our Annual Family Membership Dinner/Dance was held at AJ's
Island Club, 8120 Harry Hines Blvd. We had a typical Dominican Christmas
dinner menu with all the trimmings (puerco asado, moro de guandules,
ensaladas, y más). Dancing to DJ Hector's (our Dominican
connections to the club) selections of Caribbean music made for
a memorable afternoon and evening. See pictures on our Gallery.
Sunday, December
5- The Association's Monthly
"Tarde Social" met at the home of Luis & Cynthia Rondon
in Carrollton. We planned our Christmas Dinner/Dance and talked
of the 2005 events. Thanks to Cynthia for the Dominican food to
warm us up on a cool Sunday.

Saturday
& Sunday, November 20 & 21- Dominican
Jewelry, Arts & Crafts - was on display and for sale by
Dulce Parker of D'Caribbean Gifts at the 2004 Winter Art & Craft
Market. This annual event is at the Bath
House Cultural Center at White Rock Lake, 521 E. Lawther
Dr., Dallas. Over the two days, more people learned about the Dominican
Republic, its culture, and of the work of Dominican Artisans.
Sunday, November
7 - The Association's Monthly
"Tarde Social" met at the home & green house of Manuel
Aybar in Garland. We did not know so many orchids could be found
in Garland! See our picture gallery.
Saturdays,
November 6 & 13, 2004 - Garage Sale Funds will go
to benefit LEAP (Life Enhancement Association for People) This organization
of medical professionals travels to the Dominican Republic to perform
cranial facial surgeries and other medical procedures on Dominican
children. Dr. Luisa Rondon (972) 462 - 0097 led this fund raising
effort to help children in the Dominican Republic.

September 24
- October 17 - State Fair "Mundo Latino" -
A dress representing the Dominican Republic was on display for the
Exhibition of Latin America Dresses. Dulce Parker had an exhibition
of jewelry, arts, & crafts from the Dominican Republic at this
event.

June 4, 5, 10,
11,12,17, 18, & 19 - Our member Marco Rodriguez worked
with the Latino Culture Center for Arts and Letters to bring the
Off-Broadway play, "La Lupe" to Dallas.
June 6 -
The Association's Monthly Meeting was at the home of Divina
& Jose Garcia. Thank you to all who attended; we had a great
time visiting, reviewing "Dominican Sayings", eating Dominican
food, and learning more about each other.
MAY
2004
May 7
- The Association held a reception for Sangre Mulata, the
Folkloric Ballet from Santo Domingo in Dallas for the
May 8 & 9 FolkLórico 2004 Festival. The reception was
at the La Güira Night Club.
May 8 -
Baseball Latin appreciation Night at the Frisco, TX Rough Riders
Baseball. Friday, April 30th - Latin Night was held by the local
Baseball team. More Baseball events are being planned in the future.
May 8 - Association United Peruvians of the DFW,
Fiesta de Celebración del Día de la Madre Dance,
at Chappel Downs Community Center.

9 - Latino Culture Center is hosting the Ollimpaxqui
Ballet's company's FolkLórico 2004 Festival. This is
always a great chance to see a variety of performers from different

16 - The group from Santo Domingo, Sangre Mulata performed
another weekend before they returned to the DR.

May 21 - A group of Dominicans went to the Texas Rangers
/ New York Yankees Baseball game Friday night at 7 PM.
May 22
- Annual
Association Picnic was held at the Trinity Club, 5980 Elam
Road, Dallas Mapsco 57U. This is a private Sports Club and picnic
area owned by our member Rhadames Solano. The place is very nice.
We keep wanting to form an Association "Domino group".
