Domingo 6 de noviembre el presente año, - una linda "Tarde Social" en casa de Mayra Díaz, donde aprovecharemos para conocer más acerca de nuestra música y tendremos demostración de cómo bailar nuestra música caribeña, por lo que debemos animar a nuestros hijos a asistir. Click aqui para detales.

Comenzemos desde ya nuestro primer aguinaldo navideño con fines de recaudar fondos para nuestra "cena de navidad" a Gloria's en Dallas.

Domingo, 9 de Octube - Dominican "Tarde Social"

Tuvimos una excelente "Tarde Social" en la residencia de nuestra Vice-Presidenta, Daisy Piantini, en la cual pudimos disfrutar de la interpretación de varias piezas clásicas con Violencello a cargo de Vilma Miranda (dominicana) y Contrabajo a cargo de Scott Uhrig (americano). La Señora Vilma impartió una breve descripción de los instrumentos presentados, y asi mismo habló sobre los Compositores de las tres piezas musicales con que nos deleitaron. Al final interpretó una bella pieza musical dedicada a los niños "El Patico Feo", que fue muy aplaudida por el público presente. Al concluir, varios de los miembros presentes tuvieron la oportunidad de hacerle preguntas acerca de sus inquietudes respecto a lo enseñado. Mira el Reporte en total "Click Aqui"

Our member, Lidia Morris organized a Salsa, Merengue, & Bachata Dance in Arlington, TX with live music by the Caribbean Breeze. We enjoyed dancing and meeting everyone there. Thanks Lidia.

We celebrated the culture of the Dominican Republic at the center as part of the Hispanic Heritage Month's Celebration.

Over 170 came to the dance and to enjoy Dominican food, buy a chance to win Dominican products in a Raffle, and enjoy meeting other Dominicans in the Dallas, Fort Worth area.

Thank you to all the members who helped prepare and serve the food. This was a great fund raiser for us. And a special thank you to the Latino Arts Association of Fort Worth for inviting us to their celebration.

 

September 4th, Domingo - Dominican "Tarde Social"

Dominican Monthly "Tarde Social" was at the home of Hector Guzman & Daisy Piantini this month. We enjoyed meeting new Dominincan's in our area and added to our membership. We also planned our Ft. Worth "Merengue Under the Moonlight" Dance. See above.

Los boletos que logremos vender seran con fines de ayudar a LEAP, por lo que debemos insentivar a que la gran mayoria vaya y pueda conocer de cerca a nuestros peloteros dominicanos.

English - This was a fundraising event, the money collect will go to LEAP and we got to know the Dominican Baseball players from the Texas Rangers and the Baltimore Orioles.

JULY 1, 2005 - Friday "SALSA EN FUEGO"

       The Dallas leg of "SALSA EN FUEGO: The Orquesta Tabaco y Ron Texas        Tour 2005, presented by American Airlines", came to Dallas Friday, July 1st.

JULY 15, 2005 Friday - "Mask of Zorro" - Club Ché

       A new club in Dallas opened on Friday, July 15th. Club Ché -       Revoluntionary Restaurant & Lounge's party benefited LULAC's National       Scholarship Fund. See their Website for more information:       http://www.clubche.com .

JUNE 5, 2005 - Sunday

Our last Dominican "Tarde Social" before the summer was at the home of Dulce & Bill Parker. We had coffee & Dominican food, discussed our events and enjoyed our Dominican Culture! See Photos

MAY 28, 2005, Saturday

Our Association's Mother's Day Picnic was at the Trinity Club, 5980 Elam Road, Dallas Mapsco 57U. This is a private Sports Club and picnic area is owned by our member Rhadames Solano. We had roasted pig, music, and dancing!  See pictures of the Picnic and of the Trinity Club

MAY 6 - 22, 2005

20th Anniversary Performances of the Ballet Folklórico Ollimpaxqui. This is the dance company that helped bring Sangre Mulata to Dallas in 2001 and 2004 from the Dominican Republic. The performed at the following:

Our Dominican "Tarde Social" was at the home of Ileana and Marcos Lora. We got to know our new Board Members better and planned our May Association's activity. (Great coffee, food, and conversations!)

Spring Art and Craft Market Sale at the Dallas Culture Center's Bath House. Dulce Parker showed her D'Caribbean Gift's beautiful handed crafted jewelry, large collection of semiprecious stones of Larimar, Amber, Black Coral, mahagony wood carving, arts and crafts from the Dominican Republic. APRIL 16, 2005 - Saturday

Saturday was our last of 3 Garage Sales Benefiting LEAP.
(The Medical team that goes to the Dominican Republic to perform cranial facial surgeries on children). Thank you for the contributions and donations to support LEAP. We made some money for them and informed the community about the great work they are doing. When children from the Dominican Republic come to Dallas for operations, our Members are called on to help with them and their families.

Our member, Hector Guzman, Music Director/Conductor and the Irving Symphony Orchestra presented: "Let's Tour the World" - Latin American Fiesta! The focuses was onLatin American culture and celebrating the PABLO NERUDA YEAR (Nobel Prize winning poet) with the world famous flutist Viviana Guzman. MARCH 6, 2005 - Sunday

Our Dominican "Tarde Social" from 3 to 5 PM was at the home of Hector Guzman & Daisy Piantini. Plans were made for the spring garage sale, election of new officers, and the rest of the year's activities. Watch for announcements to come to you.
